Where Lesuto Disco fits in music rights and compliance
Lesuto Disco is a catalog, streaming, and licensing layer for indie music. We separate commercial license proof (brands and platforms), artist payouts (Stripe Connect), and society royalties (MLC and PRO reporting) so each obligation has a clear owner.
Four layers, one pipeline
Commercial sync licensing and society streaming royalties are related but not the same ledger. Disco connects artist metadata to usage reporting without mixing artist payouts and society remittances.
- 1
Artists supply truth
Writers, splits, ISWC, ISRC, cover clearance, and PRO affiliation are captured at upload and in the artist compliance portal. Change history is logged for audit.
For artists - 2
Lesuto Disco operates the catalog
We host audio, issue per-content sync licenses, run Maestro analysis once per track, and ingest usage for reporting. Moderation and repeat-infringer policy protect the catalog.
How it works - 3
Brands and platforms license with proof
Lesuto Hub merchants and Platform API partners receive licenseToken records, frozen terms snapshots, and takedown webhooks. Procurement can verify each placement.
For brands - 4
Societies receive platform reports
US mechanical (The MLC) and performance (ASCAP, BMI, and others) royalties are platform obligations tracked in our compliance admin stack. They are not deducted from artist Stripe payouts.

Trust FAQ
Does Lesuto Disco pay PRO and MLC royalties from my artist earnings?
No. Society royalties (US mechanical via The MLC and performance via ASCAP, BMI, and others) are platform obligations we track and remit separately. Your Stripe Connect payouts come from listener pools and licensing revenue share, not from writer/publisher society ledgers.
What is registered with the Copyright Office?
Lesuto Industries, Inc. registered designated agent Copyright Manager under DMCA-1074601. Public agent contact matches our /dmca policy.
How do brands prove they licensed a track?
Each commercial use through Hub or the Platform API creates an immutable license row with licenseToken and frozen terms at issuance. Export and webhook payloads support legal review.
What must artists provide for compliance?
Composition title, writer/publisher splits, ISWC or MLC work ID when available, ISRC for the recording, cover clearance for cover songs, and PRO/IPI on profile. The artist compliance portal surfaces gaps per track.
How is Lesuto Disco different from Lesuto Chameleon?
Chameleon is marketplace AI on Lesuto.com. Maestro is music AI on Lesuto Disco. Third-party platforms integrate Disco catalog licensing via the REST API; that is the enterprise surface for music compliance and tokens.
